One day there were 2 separate men jogging in the park, each with their pet dog running along beside them. The first man had his dog attached to a leash. Each time a small animal like a squirrel or rabbit would appear on the path, the dog would run towards that animal attempting to chase it. The man would then pull back hard on the leash, forcing the dog away from the animal, bringing him back in stride. The second man did not have his dog on a leash of any kind. Instead, his dog was running freely along beside him. The second man's dog also noticed the small animals along the path. However, unlike the first dog, this second dog never left the man's side and remained in perfect running stride with him.
In this story, the jog in the park represents moving through daily life. The small animals represent the daily distractions meant to break our stride and take us off our chosen path. GOD loves us and wants to have a close relationship with us. GOD does not want to force us to be with him like the first man with his dog on the leash. Instead, GOD has given us the gift of "free will" (no leash) and wants us to be with him like the second dog running freely along side the man.
Perhaps in reading this story you've noticed in the case of both dogs, the man never left the dog's side. As you jog through your life, choose to run along side GOD. HE has already chosen you. HE will never leave your side. He will get you past life's distractions and keep you on your chosen path of destiny.
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." - Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

Forgive and let it go

When people do something to hurt us, it is in our best interest to simply forgive, let it go, and move on forward. This is not an easy thing to do, yet we must do it.
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

Let's Do Our Best To Love Everyone

JESUS humbled HIMSELF and washed the feet of the 12 desciples (including Judas; the one JESUS knew would betray HIM). Let us do our best to show love to everyone, remembering that we ourselves are not perfect.

"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."

1 John 4:10-12 (NIV)
